St Chad's College Chapel, Durham

Originally constructed in 1927, St Chad's College Chapel is a much-loved building, which sits in the beautiful grounds of the College, in the heart of Durham's World Heritage Site, under the shadow of a great cathedral.

They were awarded £5,000 towards the cost of roof repairs which was completed recently.

Lindsay Young, Head of Development and Alumni Relations at St Chad’s College stated-

"We are so grateful to the Northumbria Historic Churches Trust for their generous donation of £5,000 towards the refurbishment of our beloved St Chad’s Chapel. Built as a temporary structure in 1927, this unique white, single-story timber building was in a state of serious disrepair. We have been able to use this grant towards completely replacing the roof, which previously leaked badly. We are thrilled to see the Chapel come back to life now and look forward to its return as an open place of worship, education and music".
