The perpetual challenge facing the Trust, as it is for many historic churches, is financial: we could do so much more if we can raise more funds. There are various ways in which you can help us do so, but perhaps above all you should consider becoming a subscriber to the Trust. This does not cost much, but the larger our base of active supporters, the better our chances of raising funds from larger charities and commercial concerns.
Donations are always welcome, whether or not you are a regular subscriber, and we also encourage those who share our interest in historic Northumbrian churches to consider remembering the Trust in their will.
A significant part of our income comes from the annual Steeplechase, held on a Saturday in September, where visitors to churches get sponsorship from friends and family for the numbers of churches they visit. The sponsorship monies are divided between a church of the person's nomination, and the Trust.
In addition to the Steeplechase we run events of various types, including lectures, sales, and garden parties, and we sell Christmas (and other) cards, the proceeds from all these activities being used to help repair more churches.
